Volunteer Position Title: / Wildlife Rehabilitation Volunteer
Role and Responsibilities
Summary of Activities
Assist with the daily cleaning, feeding and care to more than 160+ species of animals. During peak migratory periods there will be a great need to assist with native songbirds injured during migration. Other animals may include birds of prey, mammals, reptiles and amphibians and aquatic animals under the direction of the wildlife staff.
Daily duties include
- Cage set-up, cleaning and disinfecting as directed.
- Preparation ofdaily diets,fresh water and medications.
- Monitor animal health and well-being. Record observations as directed.
- Participate in on-going training to provide best possible care.
- Data entry and processing of deceased birds.
- Good enough physical condition to push wheel barrow and carry 50# bags of food.
- Experience with birds preferred.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as a member of a team.
- Willingness and ability to work in all weather conditions.

Specific Dates & Times Needed: / 7 days a week. Opening and closing shifts available.
Days of Week Needed: / Everyday. Weekday availability preferred.
Training Required: / On-going. Animal experience preferred.
