Job Title:Senior Marketing Officer

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary:£27,000

Reports to:Head of Communications

Job purpose

  • With support from the Head of Communications, implement an integrated marketing programme to increase public awareness of and engagement with The Sick Children’s Trust
  • Maintain The Sick Children’s Trust’s corporate identity
  • Manage the production of all organisational literature and materials
  • Lead on marketing activities for key campaigns including Big Chocolate Tea and Pyjama Party
  • Develop outstanding content for use across the charity’s communications activities

Marketing

  • Manage the organisation-wide marketing schedule, working with the Donor Care Team to consider our supporters’ journey
  • Manage the marketing for key awareness and fundraising campaigns including Big Chocolate Tea and Pyjama Party
  • Work closely with the fundraising team to develop marketing plans, activities and materials to support their objectives
  • Work with the Head of Communications to develop marketing plans around new projects and appeals
  • Work with the fundraising team on corporate partnership applications, bespoke corporate materials and cause-related marketing opportunities and sponsorship
  • Work with managers to ensure presentations are produced to brand guidelines

Copywriting, design & production

  • Lead on copywriting, editingand proofing for all marketing communications and activities
  • Manage the design, production and printing of literature
  • Manage the production of the biannual newsletter – The SCT News
  • Managethe production of the Annual Report

Corporate identity

  • Ensure all materials reflect the organisation’s vision and values
  • Ensure all communications and materials, both internal and external,follow The SCT brand guidelines

Digital marketing

  • Manage the monthly email news programme
  • Contribute to and implement the social media strategy across The SCT’s channels
  • Working with the Head of Communications, support the development of The SCT’s website
  • Manage google adwords and analytics

Content development

  • Work within the communications team to generate family stories; speaking to families, writing case studies and collating photos
  • Creatively develop bespoke content around key charity campaigns and activities to maximise impact
  • Edit and proof all content to ensure it is appropriately tailored for each communication channel

General

  • Take responsibility for own administration and ensure The Sick Children’s Trust’s database is kept up to date
  • Represent the organisation at agreed events organised by The Sick Children’s Trust and our supporters (may include some evenings and weekends)
  • Keep abreast of marketing trends and contribute creatively to The Sick Children’s Trustcommunications team

Duties may vary from time to time with development of the post. The post holder will be required to carry out such duties as receiving general telephone enquiries and dealing with general office administration as befits a small office environment.
