This document contains step-by-step instructions on how to install Accelerated Reader on an OSX Server and Macintosh student workstations.

General Theory: You will create a generic Accelerated Reader student and teacher user account on the OSX Server. Next a volume called OSXREADER is created to store the date for Accelerated Reader Then you will install the Accelerated Reader software on a Macintosh workstation. Accelerated Reader software will then have to be installed on each individual workstation for use by the student population.

Installation of STAR Reading and Math is not advised since there are no versions of STAR that will run on an OS X server. You will have to continue to run these applications using the ALSDATA volume installed on the NT/2000 Server. This will require the clients to mount both the OSXREADER volume on the OS X Server and the ALSDATA on the NT/2000 Server.
