7. DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
To provide financial support to projects of a corporate nature. To lead and implement projects specific to financial services. The role will involvement in project development, monitoring and financial control
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIC TO THIS POST:
Listed below are the prime responsibilities of this role:
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to manage projects and develop and implement new initiative
- Ensure programme/project leads have access to the level of financial advice and support necessary to meet project milestones
- Undertake technical analysis and financial modelling on options for special projects and programmes enabling decisions to be taken as to their viability
- Assist in the preparation of key documents e.g. business cases.
- Prepare and present reports to senior managers and boards
- Design, establish and maintain financial models to assist in the delivery and monitoring lf projects and programmes
- Carry out financial evaluation of project proposals to establish value for money and affordability
- Complete post completion evaluation analysis to demonstrate that financial and value for money expectations have been achieved
- Identify opportunities to utilise new or existing funding streams to deliver the group’s aims via special projects/programmes
- Provide appropriate accounting advice on accounting for major projects
- Complete, in an accurate and timely manner, grant claims appropriate to major corporate projects
- Liaise with, manage and supervise external consultants pointed to assist with special projects
- Liaise with appropriate staff within the group as required e.g. human resources, asset management, legal, strategy and performance and procurement
- Liaise with internal and external auditors as required
- Work with other organisations where appropriate e.g. joint projects or where similar projects are being undertaken
- Analyse and interpret professional advice and regulatory requirements as they relate to specific projects ensuring that compliance is achieved
- Manage or supervise staff as required
