THE PENINSULA BEVERLY HILLS PRESENTS “CELEBRATE CHICAGO,” A VIBRANT SHOWCASE OF MODERN PHOTOGRAPHIC ART, PLUS TIMELESS

CUISINE AND MUSIC FROM THE HEART OF THE US MIDWEST

This November, guests will enjoy Chicago-themed photographic art, new twists on classic Midwest cuisine and cocktails, plus jazz and blues to honour the stylish renovations at The Peninsula Chicago

The Peninsula Beverly Hills celebrates the inimitable spirit of Chicago from Sunday, November 1 until Wednesday, November 25. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan in the heart of the US Midwest, Chicago is famous for its rich culinary and cultural diversity. A thrilling destination for business and leisure travellers, it is also home to The Peninsula Chicago, whose exquisitely restyled guest rooms and suites are now available for bookings.

Chicago is revered worldwide for its pioneering architecture and thrilling skyline. To celebrate the artistic renovation of The Peninsula Chicago’s rooms and suites, The Peninsula Hotels has commissioned urban photography artist William Furniss to create imaginative impressions of iconic Chicago landmarks. During November, the first floor vitrines at The Peninsula Beverly Hills will exhibit a collection of these thought-provoking photographs. Art aficionados and casual observers alike will adore Furniss’s abstract renditions of Chicago’s unique architectural gems, such as The Wrigley Building and Skywalk and Bridge House on the DuSable Bridge, plus the 50-foot-high Picasso sculpture.

In addition to specially commissioned photographic art, highlights of the Celebrate Chicago season at The Peninsula Beverly Hills include home-made Peninsula versions of timeless Chicago dishes and desserts. Guests can savour the culinary spirit of the Windy City with a classic Chicago-style mini hot dog alongside a refreshing beer from Chicago’s own Goose Island Brewery.

Chicago is truly a city to celebrate – from the iconic buildings of Frank Lloyd Wright and Anish Kapoor’s Cloud Gate sculpture, renowned theatres and museums, jazz and blues clubs whose stages have hosted Buddy Guy and Eddy Clearwater to fine cuisine. The first skyscraper in the US opened there in 1931, and in 1974 the Sears Tower became the tallest building inNorth America. Another US cultural icon is Grant Park, which marks the start of the historic Route 66 highway connecting Chicago with Santa Monica, California.
