Job Title:Marketing Coordinator

SUMMARY

Oversees the administrative functions of the CVB Marketing & Communications team and implements the company’s overall membership programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Marketing & Communication

  • Implements the assigned programs and projects of the annual marketing plan, according to the established timelines, goals, standards and expectations of quality, integrity and service.
  • Maintains accurate project records, and obtains appropriate information for timely weekly and monthly departmental reports.
  • Compiles and solicits the information for the website, including updating the calendar of events.
  • Solicits, compiles and ensures editorial accuracy and partner inclusion in the visitors guide and all other destination publications.
  • Provides administrative support to the Director of Marketing and Communications Manager on marketing, member outreach and/or the media projects.
  • Handles internal communications (i.e. newsletters, marketing reports, partner surveys) and special projects, as requested. Provides publication proofing and assistance as directed.
  • Assist with maintaining and developing social media plan, and additional online marketing resources.
  • Provide training to members, as needed (i.e. verbal or written presentations).
  • Attend and participate in weekly sales, staff, and other meetings as assigned.

Membership

  • Maintain the membership database, provide services to members, and assist with the delivery of membership benefits to enhance membership retention and facilitate new member sales.
  • Responsible for membership sales and retention activities, including solicitation and documentation of member information in CRM.
  • Serves as the staff liaison to the MBCCVB members. Responds to member inquiries and requests regarding dues and benefits, and encourages member use of the website.
  • Represent the Macon-Bibb County CVB in a professional manner at all times, and participate in community activities and CVB programs, as required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Strong website, social media, verbal and written communication skills required.

Ability to multi-task and manage project deadlines is needed.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Communications or Journalism or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum two years of experience in the tourism marketing or public relations preferred.

SYSTEMS/COMPUTER SKILLS

Advanced user knowledge of Simpleview CRM System (or other database management programs) and Microsoft Office. Skills must be sufficient for performing direct tasks and training others. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to utilize company phone system.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee must be able to lift and carry 30lbs.
