The New Mexico Family Infant Toddler (FIT) Program is launching the FIT FOCUS Tiered Quality Rating Improvement System (TQRIS) to learn about how best to support infants, toddlers, and their families and to improve the quality of services to all children and families across New Mexico
What is FIT FOCUS?
FIT FOCUS is a quality framework, which provides Early Intervention agencies with the Standards, Tools, and Resources they need to improve the quality of services to their program, which in turn improves the quality of services to children and families. This framework focuses on the improvement of your child’s growth, development and learning-so that each child will have a better opportunity to be successful.
Why is my FIT Program Taking Part in this Project?
Of the 32 FIT agencies in New Mexico, your early intervention agency was one of seven agencies selected to pilot the new FIT FOCUS quality framework with the overall goal of improving services to children and families across New Mexico. Your program’s participation will provide state agency leaders with a better understanding of how to best support children and families.
What do I need to know?
To help the New Mexico state leaders better understand how the FIT FOCUS quality framework supports families and FIT practitioners, video may be used with you and your child as part of the pilot program. If it is, you will be asked to sign a video release to obtain your consent to video you and your child with the understanding that the video may be used for professional development and public awareness.
Please know that signing any consent form is optional.
In the fall, you may be invited to respond to a questionnaire as part of the evaluation of the FIT FOCUS pilot project to let us know how we are doing. This questionnaire would be brief in nature and your participation will be optional. All the information that is gathered through the FIT FOCUS Pilot Project is strictly confidential and will not be shared with anyone outside of the FIT FOCUS team.
