ANNOUNCE A VERY SPECIAL EVENT
The Admitted Students Dinner, Wednesday Mar. 31, 2010
The words THE FUTURE IS NOW have special meaning at MIT. MIT has always been on the cutting edge of attracting the brightest high school students available. This preeminence in attracting the best keeps MIT at the forefront in exploring new and innovative teaching practices that are needed to challenge the new and innovative minds it takes in each year. The MIT Clubs of Hartford and New Haven are proud to claim a role in this important part of keeping MIT the world’s leading technological institution.
Please join your fellow and sister alums on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 6:15 p.m. for our annual Admitted Students Dinner. This event lets us play host to Connecticut high school seniors who have been offered admission to the MIT Class of 2014. It is an opportunity for those students and their parents to learn more about MIT and it is an opportunity for us to influence the college selection process they go through.
The highlight of this event will be presentations by current MIT undergrads about their experiences in the UROP, the UPOP, and the Student Ambassadors programs. The UROP and UPOP programs are unique to MIT and allow every undergraduate student to have meaningful participation in a major research or application project. The projects are often of the student's own design and execution. Student ambassadors play an important role in explaining MIT’s student life to various groups.
Schedule: 6:15 p.m. reception; 6:45 buffet dinner; 7:30 student presentations and discussion.
This event will be at the Crowne Plaza Hotel located at 100 Berlin Road, Cromwell, CT 06450. Coming from the Hartford area, take I-91 South to exit 21 in Cromwell. Turn left off the exit. The Hotel is on the left. Coming from the New Haven area, take I-91 North to exit 21. Also, turn left at the end of the exit ramp. The Hotel is on the left.
