The Mindful Library is unique in Australia in that its focus is primarily on the fields of infant, child, and adolescent mental health. Areas of particular interest include:

Out-of-home care,

Parenting

Psychic trauma,

Psychoanalytic theory,

Psychotherapy (infant, child, adolescent, family, CBT, psychoanalytic)

Three component collections

The Mindful Library is composed of 3 main collections:

·  Mindful Collection

·  Monash MCPP collection

·  Take Two Collection.

The 3 collections are interfiled on the Library shelves with the origin of each resource identified by stamps/labels on the physical item and in the holdings details on the Mindful Library catalogue.

To search for items within a particular collection

To search the catalogue only for items held within a particular sub-collection, select the appropriate collection from the drop down menu, place the cursor in the search field and hit “Go”.

The default “All Libraries” will search the entire catalogue

Resources

The Library provides a variety of resources in print and non-print format:

General collection: Non fiction

Reference: Dictionaries

Encyclopaedia

Periodicals: Mostly in print format at this stage

Audiovisual : Videocassettes, CD, DVD

Dissertations: A copy of each MCPP dissertation is deposited in the Mindful Library as part of the MCPP collection. They are not available for loan and photocopying is not permitted for 3 years from date of publication without the written permission of the author. The dissertations appear in the Library catalogue and a full list of holdings is available via a link from the Library homepage

Electronic resources Few at this stage

Archives The RANZCP archives of Dr. Winston S. Rickards were donated in 2010 and are to be housed in the Mindful Library in perpetuity. A link to a listing of the collection is available from the Library homepage.
