The Eucharistic Prayer (we stand)
The Lord be with you. And also with you.
Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
It is indeed right and good that we should give you thanks, praise and glory, almighty and everlasting God, through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. And so with angels and archangels, and with all the company of heaven, we lift our voices and join in their unending hymn of praise:
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
(we kneel or sit)
Holy God, source of life and goodness, all creation rightly gives you praise…
Therefore we proclaim the mystery of faith:
Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.
Recalling his death, proclaiming his resurrection, and looking for his coming again in glory, we offer you, Father, this bread and this cup. Send your Holy Spirit upon us and upon these gifts, that all who eat and drink at this table may be one body and one holy people, a living sacrifice in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Through Christ, with Christ, and in Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory is yours, almighty Father, now and forever. Amen.
Our Father…
We break this bread,… to share in the body of Christ.
We, being many, are one body, for we all share in the one bread.
O Lamb of God, who takest away the sin of the world: Have mercy upon us (repeat).
O Lamb of God, who takest away the sin of the world: Grant us thy peace.
Holy Communion
All people are most welcome to come forward to receive God’s Blessing. Those baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are invited to receive His gift to His people: Holy Communion. Those who are not baptized are invited to cross their arms over their chests and be reminded of our Lord’s unaccountable love for all people, regardless of their situation. Do know how welcome you are to join us.
Music during Holy Communion:
# 65 Here Lord, We Take the Broken Bread # 66 And Now, O Father, Mindful of the Love
A Prayer of thanksgiving
Father of all, we give you thanks and praise, that when we were still far off you met us in your Son and brought us home. Dying and living, he declared your love, gave us grace, and opened the gate of glory. May we who share Christ’s body live his risen life; we who drink his cup bring life to others; we whom the Spirit lights give light to the world. Keep us firm in the hope you have set before us, so we and all your children shall be free, and the whole earth live to praise your name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Final Blessing
May the peace of God, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and glory of God; and the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, be upon you and remain with you and all those for whom you have prayed, this day and always. Amen.

Thank you to Dorothy Walker and Phyllis Isbell for the after service refreshments.

As of this Sunday our Sunday school has finished for the summer. Child care is available in the Parish Hall during the service, but one parent must be present with our child care giver to support her with the children. Please, if you send your child (ren) over, ensure that you and the other parents work out between yourselves who will remain in the Parish Hall. We hope to have Sunday School up again very soon. If you or anyone you know might be interested in helping with this ministry please speak with Fr. Haynes. We want to ensure that our ministry with children continues to grow!

Did you know that 9 out of 10 Canadians say it’s important to find a solution to the lack of affordable housing in our communities? The diocese of Ontario and Habitat for Humanity Kingston are working together to provide just that. On Tuesday July 11 at 11:30am, the Good Shepherd Mission on 46 Cowdy Street in Kingston will host a BBQ to kick-off the ‘Good Shepherd Legacy,’ a 5 unit housing project to be built on the site of the Good Shepherd Mission later this year. A diocesan ministry centre will be included in the build. All are welcome to attend, please join us on the July 11 block party and BBQ starting at 11:30 am.

Processional – #560God, Whose Almighty Word
Welcome, and we give thanks for all we are, in Jesus Christ!
We are deeply pleased to have you worship with us this morning!
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship
of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. And also with you.
We pause, in silence, and then begin in prayer, standing:
Almighty God, to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hidden. Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Gloria in Excelsis
GLORY be to God on high, and in earth peace, good will towards men. We praise thee, we bless thee, we worship thee, we glorify thee, we give thanks to thee for thy great glory, O Lord God, heavenly King, God the Father Almighty.
O Lord, the only-begotten Son, Jesu Christ; O Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, that takest away the sin of the world, have mercy upon us. Thou that takest away the sin of the world, receive our prayer. Thou that sittest at the right hand of God the Father, have mercy upon us.
For thou only art holy; thou only art the Lord; thou only, O Christ, with the Holy Ghost, art most high in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
the collect
O GOD, the protector of all that trust in thee, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy: Increase and multiply upon us thy mercy; that, thou being our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we finally lose not the things eternal. Grant this, O heavenly Father, for Jesus Christ’s sake our Lord. Amen.
The First Reading:Zechariah 9:9-12 (p. 920 in pew Bible)
“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your King is coming to you;He is just and having salvation,
Lowly and riding on a donkey,A colt, the foal of a donkey.
I will cut off the chariot from EphraimAnd the horse from Jerusalem;
The battle bow shall be cut off.He shall speak peace to the nations;
His dominion shall be ‘from sea to sea,And from the River to the ends of the earth.’
“As for you also,Because of the blood of your covenant,
I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.Return to the stronghold,
You prisoners of hope.Even today I declareThat I will restore double to you.

The Second Reading:Romans 7:15-25a(p.1104 in pew Bible)
I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. Now if I do what I do not want, I agree that the law is good. But in fact it is no longer I that do it, but sin that dwells within me. For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot do it. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do. Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I that do it, but sin that dwells within me.
So I find it to be a law that when I want to do what is good, evil lies close at hand. For I delight in the law of God in my inmost self, but I see in my members another law at war with the law of my mind, making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!

The Gradual Hymn - #508 I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say
The Holy Gospel:Matthew 11:16-30 (p.942 in pew Bible) Glory to you, Lord Jesus Christ
Jesus continued to speak to the crowd around about Him:
“But to what shall I liken this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their companions, and saying:‘We played the flute for you,And you did not dance; We mourned to you,And you did not lament.’
For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.”
Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent: “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.”
At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”The Gospel ofChrist. PeoplePraise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
Sermon –The Rector
The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
