Or we simply choose a package holiday, which provides everything for one fixed price .Then we pack our luggage ,drive to the airport , get on a plane and away we go! The journeyfrom Africa to Australia took our early ancestors 100,000 years: mine took less than a day. Wonderful! Or is it !You see , our age of mass travel and tourism has brought real problems. Of course ,there is the pollution that planes leave in the sky and that resorts create on the ground .But here ,I`m really talking about the pollution that we individuals cause. It`s truly horrific to see the mess that people sometimes leave in the world`s most beautiful places .And the more who visit ,the worse the problem. As a travel writer ,I suppose I help to create this problem since I persuade people to visit those beautiful places .The thing I want to say to my readers though is this: Wherever you go , leave it as you find it .Take only photographs .leave only footprints.

By the year 2000, the world had made good progress in some areas. For example, we had come close to the eradication of polio, and measles under control. However, the global health situation had actually got worse in other ways. TB and malaria were not under control, and AIDS had become a global epidemic. World leaders at the United Nations Millennium Summit therefore agreed new targets. One of those stated that by 2015, “We will have stopped and begun to reduce the spread of AIDS, malaria and other major diseases.
Today, many scientists are more pessimistic- and for good reasons. AIDS has now killed over 40 million people and has spread to regions such as Eastern Europe and China.
