The Life and Times of the 1950’s Group Presentation
Rationale: In order to better understand the setting of The Catcher in the Rye, youwork with your group to create a Google presentation that depicts the life and times of the 1950’s by addressing the advances in technology, politics, entertainment and fashion during this time period.
Directions:
- Each member of your group will choose an area of the 1950’s (technology, politics, entertainment, or fashion) that they will become an “expert” in. Note: No two members of your group can choose them same topic.
- Choose one member of your group to log into their Google drive account and create onepresentation for all of you to work on. Please make sure that the student shares the presentation with all group members so that you can all work on your presentation at the same time.
- Then, each presenter will research important information about their chosen and will create a minimum of four slides describing that information using bulleted facts and images. Note: All slides should have a title and should contain a combination of important bulleted ideasand images and should only contain information from the time period 1950-1959.
- Your completed presentations will be due on February 12, 2015. The completed group presentation will have a total of at least twelve slides of text/images and one title page with a presentation title and group member names, teacher, and periodand a works cited slide at the end linking where each student found their information.
- On February 12, you will each take turns presenting your area of expertise to the rest of your group and share your completed presentation with your teacher for grading. This project will be worth a total of 100 points.
