Make a difference, the sooner the better!
You have a long list of small projects ... a “TO DO LIST” a mile long!
You don’t have the time or the resources to get finished or for that matter... started.
Calling all Waterloo Region Social Entrepreneurs andStart-ups
You know the projects you have on your “TO DO LIST”, here are some others to help you think about how our students can help you:
Competitor Analysis – Review & Refresh
- Who is new out there? What are they doing?
- Are you keeping up with what your competitors are doing? White papers, press releases?
- You don’t have the time to keep up with everyone, your head is down building your business, let the team help you put this together.
Opportunity Assessment
- Are you on the right track? Has marketing been listening to the customer? Are you logging what your customers are saying?
- Are there other markets or segments you need some help identifying?
- Do you need help putting together your list of potential customers? Who are they? Will they buy into your value proposition?
Focus Groups & Surveys – Need help with running a focus group or conducting surveys, need help consolidating the information?
Brainstorming – A unique opportunity to access your future users/customers/employees. What do they say about your product, ease of use? What do they see for the future?
Backlog Clearing
- Get your databases in order, your mailing lists refined. Build your first ever CRM.
- Understand your bounce rates and where traffic is coming from. What is working for you? Have you got an inventory management system? Is it a mess?
The University of Waterloo, St. Paul’s GreenHouse, has created a unique internship program to help you manage your projects.
Teams of two first work term students will help you clear up the backlog, so your front end can run smoothly. You can move forward more efficiently to build and scale.
Here are just some of the many benefits of the program:
By engaging the cream of the crop from Waterloo Co-op you will build a pipeline of talented, young professionals.GreenHouse Co-op allows you to test the waters of hiring without the additional drain of salary and benefit or committing to the full 4 months for regular co-op. You will also have a direct link to the talent and mentoring at St. Paul’s GreenHouse.
Employees will be trained ahead of time, mentored by a full time supervisor and staff at St Paul’s GreenHouse, and their success will be monitored by their own co-op advisor.
Our special cohort of 10students will beinterviewed and selected. Part of the screening criteria will be that they have a keen interest in entrepreneurship through either course work, community engagement or their own small venture creation. They all posses highly transferrable skills and will be able to contribute to your digital workflow; sales and marketing, finance and accounting, or product development.
Co-op students arrive ready to learn, have their eyes wide open, ask a lot of good questions, sell themselves (and you) to the world, and will do whatever it takes to get the job done.
You have the opportunity to influence 2 students with an interest in social entrepreneurship and send them back to the world ready to make a difference. Students will leverage this very first co-op opportunity that you provide for the rest of their lives.
Everyone will approach this opportunity with a heightened sense of urgency and a can-do attitude. You will be shocked by how much can be achieved in 4 weeks.
The fine print:
Teams of 2 junior co-op students are available to help you for 4 weeks.
