IT ORACLE DEVELOPER

[Paterson Grade: C Upper]

REMUNERATION PACKAGE: R482, 063 per annum (Plus Medical and Housing Allowance)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

·  Qualification: A National Diploma in Information Technology or B degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualifications;

·  Oracle Certification;

·  3 years’ experience using Oracle forms, Reports (10g, 11g);

·  3 years’ experience using Oracle PL/SQL (10g, 11g);

·  Experience with E-Business Suite;

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

·  Knowledge of SQL and PLS/SQL to work with Oracle

·  Knowledge of object oriented programming language (VB6 or .Net, C Sharp) ASP or APSX, Crystal Reports, OO development methodology as well as RDBMS (MS SQL 7.0 OR 2000) to maintain the web application using Microsoft visual audio

·  Knowledge and experience of Microsoft technology (COM, MTS, Web Services and ADVO etc.), and N-tier software architecture

·  Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000 network technologies, installations, configurations and support

·  Knowledge of Linux/Apache will be an advantage

·  Knowledge of Microsoft SQL server database

·  Sense of urgency

·  Ability to work under pressure

·  Sound verbal communication skills.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

·  Perform system building and implementation of Application Modules;

·  Maintain and monitor the application environment to ensure stability and optimum performance;

·  Monitor and maintain application logs and perform error analysis where applicable;

·  Participate in Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions;

·  Participate actively in the building of system architecture and the system integration thereof;

·  Develop and change the website and intranet as required;

·  Establish backup Plan as per HPCSA Disaster Recovery policy;

·  Liaise with the Database Administrator for interfacing to Meta Data Repository;

·  Administer Enterprise Content Management Suite;

·  Manage user access of E-business Suite;

·  Administer and support Oracle finance modules (AR,AP,CM,GL, FA,PO);

·  Report regularly to the Chief Information Officer regarding the scope and detail of development and provide advice on the scope and impact of changes/developments;

·  Mentor and coach juniors and trainee developers through an on Job-training mechanism;
