The Hart Learning Group is a charitable organisation with a mission to create social and economic value through learning. The Hart Learning Group currently includes:

North Hertfordshire College (NHC): an occupationally focussed further education college with campuses in Stevenage, Hitchin and Letchworth.

Hart Learning & Development (HL&D): a progressive new learning and development business which supports businesses of all sizes to engage with and invest in emerging talent.

The Hart Schools Trust: a burgeoning schools trust which currently sponsors a secondary academy (Thomas Alleyne's Academy) and two studio schools (the Da Vinci School of Creative Enterprise in Letchworth and the Da Vinci School of Science and Engineering in Stevenage).

role specification

n  Be responsible for business development and sales, delivering against challenging growth targets.

n  Deliver insight-based sales, drawing on a deep understanding of business needs and suitable solutions in the emerging talent space.

n  Nurture relationships with new and existing clients to develop business opportunities.

n  Create and manage a rich and diverse pipeline of sales opportunities, leading sales and bid processes from initial enquiry to full tender responses.

n  Lead sales team to deliver their targets, through setting targets, directing work, coaching and supporting team members. Grow team through recruitment, selection and training.

n  Deliver profitable work through appropriate pricing techniques and commercial negotiation.

n  Own our pipeline and sales reporting, and customer relationship management tools and processes.

n  Act as part of Hart L&D’s management team to support the growth of the whole business, in particular working with the MD to drive our marketing and communications, and with the Director of Operations to ensure smooth handover from sales to delivery.

n  Model in your work the philosophy and values of the Group and in particular take responsibility for promoting equality and diversity.

Person specification

n  Target-driven and passionate about results, with a proven track record of success in a business to business sales environment.

n  Experienced leader and motivator of people, able to support their team in delivering results.

n  Understanding of the HR director agenda and business needs in the emerging talent and learning & development spaces.

n  Familiarity with apprenticeships and the wider government-funded work-based learning offer.

n  Excellent communicator, possessing ability to communicate and build relationships with a wide variety of people.

n  Ability to deliver persuasive written content, ranging from formal bid responses to social media to thought leadership.

n  Strong commercial mind set, including experience in assessing deal profitability and negotiating commercially viable outcomes.

UK travel is a requirement of this role.
