OUTDOOR ACTIVITY INSTRUCTOR
Location:Lorne House
Reports to:Activity Co-Ordinator
Responsible to:Operations Manager
Hours:21hrs per week – 8 month contract
Salary:£8.30 per hour
Purpose of the Job
The Outdoor Activities Instructor is responsible for instructing on all the outdoor activities, for ensuring the safety of all groups and for maintaining equipment.
Main Duties
1.To instruct groups of all ages in a range of activities including the High Ropes Course, Climbing Wall, Crate Challenge, Archery, Abseil, Gorge Walk, Bungee trampoline, Bushcraft, Team Building, Zip line and any other activities which may be added in the future.
2.To follow procedures and systems of work to ensure that safety is maintained at all times.
3.To ensure that activities are run efficiently and that problems are resolved in a timely manner.
4.To ensure that the site and equipment is maintained and stored in line with defined standards.
5. To identify the need for repair/replacement of activity equipment and report this to the Activity Co-Ordinator as soon as possible.
6. To carry out repairs on equipment where possible.
7. To ensure that logs and accurate written records are regularly updated in connection with relevant activities.
8. To lead team building exercises suitable for different types of groups and ages.
9. To complete any documentation required relating to group sessions.
10. To deal with as appropriate and report any hazards to the Activity Co-Ordinator at the earliest opportunity.
11. To undertake any training that is required for this role.
12.To carry out warden duties as and when required i.e. maintaining campsites, erecting/dismantling tents and marquees, ensuring camping stores remain clean and tidy ready for use.
13. To assist with housekeeping duties as and when required.
