About this Document

Categories of Manufacture

Manufacturers of veterinary chemical products are categorised, depending on the type of veterinary chemical manufacture authorised by their licence. Facilities may be authorised to produce more than one category of product.

Category 1–Immunobiologicals and sterile veterinary preparations
Category 2–Non-sterile veterinary preparations other than ectoparasiticides, premixes and supplements
Category 3–Ectoparasiticides
Category 4–Premixes and supplements
Category 6–Single step manufacturer

Note:Category 5 was reserved on commencement of the Scheme and is not currently employed.
