The Gloria A. Croley Memorial Scholarship

The Gloria A. Croley Scholarship fund was established in 2011 to offer financial assistance to graduating seniors of Arcanum High School who are actively involved in 4-H. The scholarship honors the late Gloria Croley, whose family resides in DarkeCounty and were involved in 4-H. Gloria Croley dedicated many years of service as a 4-H advisor. The 4-H program was significantly important to her. The Gloria A. Croley Scholarship has been created in her memory in order to assist graduating seniors the opportunity to attend an accredited program of a college or university and to have a positive impact on others.

Scholarship Criteria:

  • Be a graduating senior of Arcanum-ButlerHigh School
  • Be actively involved in the DarkeCounty 4-H program
  • Acceptance and pursuing a degree at an accredited technical school; two or four-year college or university

Application Process

  • Complete the scholarship application and return it by the deadline date.
  • Attach to the application:

□ A transcript of grades through the seventh semester.

□ Letters of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, 4-H advisor, or employer. Supply a minimum of two.

□ A copy of the acceptance letter from the educational institution to which you have been accepted.

□ An essay (one page, typed, double-spaced) on why you are seeking a college education and how 4-H impacted that decision.

Scholarship Award

Two $500 non-renewable scholarships will be available for awarding annually.

Use of the Scholarship

The scholarship may be used for tuition and other related educational expenses.

Payment of the Scholarship

The scholarship award will be paid directly to the chosen school.
