Today you are to use this packet to help you cover the basic features of Power Point.

·  Open Power Point: Start, Program, Microsoft Office, Power Point

·  Choose to Create a New Presentation using a Blank Presentation. – If it opens a blank presentation you don’t need to select anything

·  Choose the Layout for the First Slide—Title Slide

·  Type in the title for this project in the Title Bar (Intro to Power Point)

·  Move your cursor to the lower box and enter your name and De Smet Jesuit High School.

·  Next you need to create a new Slide, -- click New Slide.

·  Choose the Title and Content Format – when you add text it will become a bulleted list.

·  In the Title Bar of this Slide Name it “High School Experiences”

·  Then list three or four of your experiences so far in High School.

·  Create a third slide, this one should be the layout titled Two Content

·  Double click on the clip art box and use the clipart menu to add a clip art picture.

·  If you want to add a picture you have saved rather than a clip art you can do that instead.

·  Give the slide a title describing the clip art or picture

·  Write something in the text box on the side about the picture.

·  Create a new slide, the layout for this one should be Title Only

·  Give it the title Last Slide

·  Insert all of the following: A text box containing text. draw an arrow, draw a circle, draw a box, and insert word art

·  Add animation effects to the final 3 slides.

·  Clicking Preview allows you to see how the slide will animate.

·  View your slide show (click to move to the next step)

·  Additional Things you should do, but do not need to save:

1.  Change the backgrounds or the design template.

2.  Rearrange order of slides.
