The GLOBAL TRAINING Programme Is Sponsored by the Basque Government. the Programme Aims

The GLOBAL TRAINING programme is sponsored by the Basque Government. The programme aims to offer Basque University and Vocational Training graduates under the age of 30 an extended period of professional experience in their field in another country.

ADEGI in collaboration with Confebask and Hetel manages some 60 of a total 370 GLOBAL TRAINING scholarships each year on behalf of the Basque Government.

The GLOBAL TRAINING programme provides selected interns with full sponsorship for six months. This includes a stipend of approx 6.750 € or 1.125€/month, full insurance covering accident and third party liability and a 50 hour training course on competence development and internationalization prior to departure.

We are currently preparing the new programme of offers to present to the Basque Government sponsors in the next few weeks; the fortunate selected interns will take up their placements in November 2015.

Collaborating companies are requested to invest in the interns and commit to a potential extension of the placement for a further two to six months if the intern performs satisfactorily in the initial placement period.

Hosting companies are able to extend the placement by 2, 3, 4 or 6 months either by extending the conditions of the internship or by contracting the intern. If not contracted the interns retain all the original characteristics of Spanish -Basque interns with insurance cover for the total period of the internship and contributions to the Spanish Social Security throughout.

Financing for maintenance and accommodation in the post six month period is covered by the company and paid directly to the intern. Companies may choose to pay the intern the same quantity as the scholarship grant (1.124,77 €/month) or to pay a quantity in line with local costs of living and local internship salaries or they can offer to cover some expenses in kind by providing meals and /or accommodation, or flights etc.

You are asked to indicate the possibility to do this in the Application Form (VI.b) and in the Pre Agreement (VI) attached.

The Goverrnment programme values highly the willingness of companies to contribute to the placements after the initial six months which is why we ask you to look through the attached documents (Companr Application Form - 2015 and Pre Agreement) and if of interest to you, to fill them in, sign and return to us by 19th May 2015 so that we can include your offer in our proposal.

We would like to mention that signing the attached document does not oblige companies to retain the intern but is rather a statement of intent. After the first 4-5 months of the placement, companies will openly evaluate if the intern is valid for their project and will take a final decision as to offering to retain them in their team.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

We look forward to collaborating with you.

Kind Regards /Best Wishes,
