Mrs. Cecilia Wong is an experienced accredited general, family mediator and family mediation supervisor, and she has conducted over 300 mediations in various types of dispute, including commercial disputes, personal injuries and negligence cases, construction and building management disputes, family cases, financial disputes and intellectual property disputes, etc. Moreover, she is an active speaker, lecturer, trainer and assessor at various seminars, conferences, courses and assessments on mediation and ADR organized by various public and private organisations in Hong Kong. In addition, she is also very active in promoting the development of mediation in Hong Kong and has served on various mediation working parties and committees. Presently, she is the Chairlady of the Mediation Committee of the Law Society and the Mediator Admission Committee of the Law Society, a Member on the Chief Justice's Working Party on Mediation and a member of Secretary for Justice’s Steering Committee on Mediation.
Ms. Sylvia Siu JP, practicing solicitor since 1984; she has taken mediation courses with Accord Group (Australia), CEDR (UK) & Harvard University (USA). As an accredited general mediator, family mediator and family mediation supervisor, she is listed on panels of numerous professional organisations including LSHK, HKIAC, HKIArb, CEDR, CCPIT, HKMAAL, HKMC, Shenzhen Securities and Futures Dispute Resolution Centre and Dongguan No.2 Court. She has substantial experience in conducting mediation and enjoys sharing her experience in local and overseas ADR conferences as speaker/ lecturer, and has given mediation trainings locally and abroad including training PRC judges at the NationalJudgesCollege in Beijing. She holds important posts at leading working parties on ADR committees, such as Chairperson of ADR Committee and Past President of Hong Kong Federation of Women Lawyers, Founder and Past President of Hong Kong Mediation Centre, Vice President of Nansha International Arbitration Centre, Vice Chairlady of Guangzhou, Hong Kong & Macao Mediation Alliance. She was a member of the Chief Justice’s Working Party on Mediation & is presently a member of the Secretary for Justice’s Steering Committee on Mediation.
Mr. Norris Yang has been practising international commercial law in Hong Kong and Canada for more than 30 years. He is a partner of Zhong Lun Law Firm (formerly Boughton Peterson Yang Anderson, Solicitors) and founder of ADR International Limited. He has received mediation training from Canada, United States, Australia and Hong Kong. Mr. Yang has significant experience dealing with international commercial disputes in a variety of disciplines as a facilitative, evaluative or transformative mediator. He was the first Asian accredited by the International Mediation Institute (The Hague: and the first Hong Kong lawyer to be honoured as a “Distinguished International Neutral” of the CPR Institute (New York: Mr. Yang has been recognised by Who's Who Legal in 2015 (for the fourth year) as one of the world's leading commercial mediators since this list was established in 2012. ( He is an accredited mediator of the Law Society, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and the Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation Association Limited (“HKMAAL”) (General and Family). Mr. Yang was the past Chairman of the Hong Kong Mediation Council from 2003 to 2006. He is the Chairman of the Communications and Publicity Committee of the HKMAAL.Mr. Yang also conducts accredited English and Chinese Mediation Courses in Hong Kong and Macau (training senior government officials, lawyers, accountants and business executives) and frequently lectures at local universities.
Mr. Iu Ting Kwok is a practising solicitor and mediator with Kwok, Ng & Chan. He is a HKMAAL accredited mediator (general & family) as well as an accredited family mediation supervisor. He has mediated over 330 cases (general and family) since April 2010. A Hong Kong senior counsel once described TK’s skills as “exemplary and excellent” and that he “is a very seasoned and brilliant mediator”. In November 2012, the Secretary for Justice appointed Mr. Iu to be a member of the Regulatory Framework Sub-Group of the Steering Committee on Mediation. In addition to being a HKMAAL Stage 2 assessor, he is also a mediation coach and lead trainer of HKMAAL accredited general mediation courses. TK has recently been named as “one of the world’s leading commercial mediators” by Who’s Who Legal : Mediation 2015.
Enrolment Conditions:
- The course is open to Members of the Law Society. Enrolments will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.
- If a registrant has registered for a course which is free of charge, and he is not able to attend the course after his registration is accepted by the Academy, he must give written notice to the Academy at least one clear working day before the course is due to be held. Otherwise, he may not be given priority when he registers for the Academy future free courses.
- Only those who have been allocated a seat will receive a confirmation email from the Academy. Those who have not received a confirmation email from the Academy before the date of the course shall treat their registrations for the free course unsuccessful.
