Career Project Research:

During this project, you will use your research to produce a Medical Career Brochure, a Medical Career Prezi/Power Point, a summary of why you chose this career, and a citation page. You are expected to present your project in class.

  • Other Resources print or web (be sure to evaluate other websites for quality and accuracy of information.)

1.Background: overall information or definition about this career, including the degree you will receive.

2.Personal Qualities: The traits needed to be successful in this career.

3.Educational Prerequisites: What does it take to get into your college of interest?

4.Colleges: List 3 schools that offer the program of your study. Pick two of those schools and report on admission requirements, tuition, and cost of living. If you’re studying to become a professional with advance training (ex: nurse, physician, physical therapist, pharmacist, etc.) you will also need to look up a school of that field and provide the above information for that program. Include any test that may need to be taken to get into that advance training program.

5.Training: What type of training do you get for your specialty? Is it during school or on the job?

6.Licensing: How do you get your license to practice this field? Is there and examine that you need to take to get your license?

7.Salary/Benefits/Work hours: How much income will you make in your field of choice? What types of benefits are provided? What will your work schedule look like for your career?

8.Duties: What are the specific duties of this career? What population of people will you care for in this career?

9.Career Advancement: What type of jobs can you hold with your degree? Can you own your own practice? Can you be a manager/supervisor?

10.Job Demand: What is the job outlook for your career? Will there be job for you when you get out of school?

11.Continuing Education requirements- What does the professional have to do for renewal of their professional license? Do they have to take continuing education class? If so, how many hours do they need to renew their license?

Write your own personal viewpoint of this career. Why did you choose this career? Give your opinions of the negative and positive aspects of this career. Explain if you would still like to major in this field? The summary should follow this format: 1 page typed double-spaced, 1” margins, and 12 point font.
