The first meeting of 2010 a UMX round on the7th of March

AtSwanmoor, near Southampton

The weather was fantastic; the track was very dusty, surprisingly for this time of the year. We were using this as a warm up for the first BritishMaxxis championshipon the 28th.

Race1 - We had a second place which was better than wehad expected and the track had ridden really well.

Race 2 – In the second race we got caught up in a pile up on the start, then managed to come through from 29th to 6th.

Race 3 - Saw us have another 2nd place, earning us a 2nd overall on the day.

What a fantastic start to the season, roll on CanadaHeights!

The first 2010 sidecar MXMaxxis Championship at Canada Heights 28th March

Traveling to the track we were 5 minutes away and all the roads were flooded. This wasn’t a good sign. Luckily the track is mainly on a hill and is quite sandy, so drains very well.
Race 1 - We had a middle of the range startand finished 10th, which we weren’t happy with. We were making mistakes everywhere, overshooting corners and probably looking like we had never ridden before! After the race we had a talk and we had both put too much pressure on ourselves, trying too hard and making mistakes.

Race 2 - We had an ok start, about 15thish!We were back to our usual selves and we pulled up to 4th, what afantastic race, we were over the moon!

Race 3 - We had a 5th place just behind 4th pushing all the way to the line. This left us 5th overall in the championship and absolutely chuffed with that, as we didn’t expect to finish this high up!

First sidecar GP of 2010 at Oldebrook in Hollandon the Easter weekend
Nervouswas the only way we could describe it, being on the same track as the best in the world is a bit daunting, to say the least!! We had pre qualifying practice for gate positions and we were 18th on the gate, not bad out of 30! Qualifying came and we said we would just go and enjoy ourselves and anything on top would be a bonus. We went around the first corner in 28th we rode our hearts out and pulled through to9th.

There are no words to describe how happy wewere at our first GP, qualifying on our first attempt, superb! Now we had all the work to do to get the bike ready for the Grand Prix on the Monday. It rained all day on Sunday and we thought the track would be ruined. Fair play to the organizers though, who were out with the diggers, the result being a superb track!

Race 1- What a feeling, sat with the best 30 out of the 60 who tried to qualify. Race 1 went really well finishing 22nd, just out the points.

Race 2 went without a hitchpulling up to 18th place. Three points gained and all the team were absolutely over the moon. What an achievement, leaving us 23rd in the world.
