We are seeking a MSI Consultant Advisor with the mandatory qualification for teaching children who are deafblind who can complement our multi-disciplinary team. The role will have three areas of focus, These include:

  1. Providing practitioner support to the south locality team, this includes:
  2. Practice supervisions for practitioners within the team
  3. Working with the children and young people services manager to identify learning and development needs
  4. Providing advice to other practitioners within the national service
  • Supporting the development of less experienced colleagues
  1. Supporting our traded activities and charity funded work.
  • Delivery of national training calendar
  • Provision of advisory teacher support to schools and colleges
  • Provision of advisory teacher mentoring and contributing to school improvement
  • Undertaking statutory assessments, including EHC plan, transition and deafblind guidance assessments
  • Delivering packages of support (such as provide assessments of needs or negotiating with relevant statutory agencies)
  1. Supporting the Head of Service with delivery of practice focused projects such as
  2. Developing resources and national sector support
  3. Piloting new models of service delivery

The aspects of the role will entail organisation and engagement in a wide range of activities with support from the wider team within Children’s Specialist Services.

This post will be integral to identify, support, advise and represent deafblind children, young people and their families. Reporting to the Head of Children’s Specialist Services the post holder will work within/have ability to accessthe South locality team from our newly refurbished Hadley Family Centre in Barnet.

The role is part of the national Children’s Specialist Services Management team; it is a great service so you will get support and guidance but will also be expected to contribute to the national plans and deliver to targets.
