2)Role Purpose
- To advance the Kingdom of God through shared leadership, collaboration and example.
- To exercise the cure of souls in thus benefice, shared with the Bishop & Team Rector.
- To co-operate with the Team rector and the PCCto promote the whole mission of the church - pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical in the benefice.
- To contribute to the provision of pastoral/spiritual care and liturgical provision, including Sunday services, worship at festivals/holy days and occasional offices.

3) General Responsibilities

4) Specific Responsibilities
- Be part of the clergy team that leads the Church and manages the staff- alongside Joanna Seabourne (associate, i/c St Augustine’s, Wrangthorn and the interns) and Mark Harlow (curate, i/c 10.30 service, young families & 0-18s), and under the overall leadership of the Rector, Jonathan Clark.
- Share in leadership of the Round Table (senior staff team that leads the Church, with the other FT clergy and Student pastor and Youth Pastor)
- Share in leadership of PCC and attend meetings of the Standing Committee (Rector + Associates + 3 Church Wardens + Treasurer + Secretary, for strategic direction)
- Share in leadership of prayer meetings
- Line manage up to 7 staff
- Take a share of occasional offices, as they arise
- Lead the Young Adults, Students and 18.30 service
- Be responsible for the 18.30 team and the programme
- Be responsible for the Young Adults; huddle missional communities
- Keep the 18.30 service attractional; being able to bring friends is a key value
- Connect with students and line manage the Student Pastor
- Preach and teach regularly
- Be the lead preacher at 18.30, preaching 3 sermon series a year
- Develop the 18.30 preaching team
- Also preach at 10.30, St Augustine’s Wrangthorn
- Oversee AT LEAST ONE other area of responsibility (according to your gifts and the needs of the Team): Alpha and Invitational events, Training (Theology, Leadership, Discipleship, Small Group/Network leadership training), Interns, Ministry to Men/Women, Communications, Etc.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the Leeds Episcopal Area Church Planting and Growth Strategy (1-2 days a week)
- Work with Bishop of Richmond, the Archdeacon of Leeds and the Rector to send out teams and missional communities from St George’s to other parishes/contexts in the city
- Create a discipleship culture: with dynamic teaching, worship, community & mission
- Identify and train leaders - for all the different roles needed in revitalising teams

6)Role Context
St George’s Team Ministry is located in the western segment of the dynamic city centre of Leeds. The Town Hall, the Civic Hall, Leeds General Infirmary and Leeds Crown Court are all located in the parish along with a small area of inner city housing.
Over the years, the ministry and mission of St George’s Church and Crypt have had a profound influence of the life of the city. Today, the large and vibrant congregation includes a diverse range of people including students, families, young professionals, Christians and asylum seekers from around the world.
The Bishop of Richmond and the Archdeacon of Leeds are working with the Rector and staff of St George’s and other partners to devise, develop and deliver a Leeds Episcopal Area Church Planting and Growth Strategy.
