The Development Director will oversee all fundraising events and activities for the Crystal Mountain Alpine Club (CMAC). This position will be responsible for managing and enhancing all ofCMAC’s current fundraising events and activities, as well as implementing new events and programs to diversify and enhance the financial support of the club. The Director will work with the Treasurer and assist in the development of the annual budget. Additional responsibilities are possible based on qualifications. The Director will work from their home office, and work requirements will largely coincide with the academic year.

With the support and collaboration of the Program Director, Board of Directors, and existing staff, the Director of Development will:

  1. Direct and Manage Annual Giving
  2. Create and manage Annual Campaign. Work with the Board of Directors to identify, cultivate, and solicit major and minor gifts and maximize CMAC community participation.
  3. Personally solicit major donors, with help from the Board of Directors as required
  4. Produce gift acknowledgement letters
  5. Direct and Manage Corporate Sponsorships
  6. Formalize and oversee a stewardship program for all donors. Ensure sponsors receive promised exposure at events, in club communications, and on social media
  7. Actively recruit new sponsors from parent community and from organizations benefitting from access to CMAC’s community
  8. Personally solicit sponsors, with help from the Board of Directors as required
  9. Manage Corporate Matching and Volunteer Time contributions
  10. Direct and Manage Fundraising Events
  11. Establish and manage an annual auction with a high level of board participation
  12. Develop a comprehensive fundraising plan. Understand the giving and time restraints of the community and suggest additional events for community building and fundraising (raffle, ski swap, golf-tournament/summer event, etc.)
  13. Assist with CMAC hosted races by procuring and stewarding sponsors
  14. Manage annual banquet
  15. Establish and manage anAlumni network for development and coach recruiting
  16. Establish activities that resonate and promote active Alumni participation
  17. Design and Execute all CMAC surveys

Qualifications and Requirements:

Well-qualified candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public relations or non-profit leadership. Other desired qualifications include, but are not limited to, public relations, prospecting, business development and negotiation. Persuasive writing, strong verbal communication and the ability to interact with business executives are essential.
