Dear Neighbors:
On March 7, 2006the Century Farms Neighborhood Association will be having three meetings, one of which will be our Annual Meeting of the Members. This meeting will be held at the NapervilleTownship offices located at 139 Water Street in Downtown Naperville. At this meeting we will be voting in our new board members.
In order for the election to be held and our volunteers to be elected in as board members, we need at least 20% of voting members to attend the meeting in person and/or to send in their proxies. (See Exhibit B to Century Farms Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, Restrictions and Easements, 4.02)
Of the 253 households, each household is entitled to one vote; therefore we need at least 51 voters in attendance or 51 valid proxies or more feasibly a mixture of both. Although we may have quite a number of homeowners present, the number of eligible voters may not be reached, so we ask that you:
Please return your completed proxy form no later than:
March 5,2005.
Preferablyby placing it in the proxy box located at 1608 Mohler Court.
With your proxy form, we are able to conduct the annual meeting
and have the elections take place because we will have reached a quorum.
You can return your proxy by placing it in the special “Proxy Box” located at 1608 Mohler Court by the mailbox. Do not place it in the mailbox or we may never get it. Alternatively, you can deliver it to any Board member, you can stop by the meeting and drop it off; you can give it to someone you know that will be attending the meeting. In the event we do not receive enough proxies by March 5, you may be visited by a member of the board asking to you to sign your proxy.
Understanding the importance of returning your proxy form is essential, here is a review of the following three documents: The Notice of Meeting,
The Candidate Information and
The Proxy/Ballot form.
The Notice of Meetingoutlines the three separate meetings on Tuesday, March 7, 2006. The reason for the three meetings results from the requirements of our Declaration and By-Laws.
The first meeting is the last of the quarterly Regular Meetings of the Board of Directors and allows the current board to complete any old business.
The second is the Annual Meeting of the Members of CFNA, and as owners of homes in Century Farms, we are all members. New Board Members Are ElectedAt This Meeting.
The third meeting is an Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors of CFNA, also required by the declaration/by-laws. The newly elected Board will conduct this meeting as well as having the officers designate which board positions they will hold.
The Candidate Information page is just that, it contains the statements of the candidates who are running for Board positions. There are three board positions available and each position is for a two-year term.
The Proxy Form has three sections. You should complete and sign only one section. You should read them carefully, and decide which option you would like to choose. We can always email you extra Proxies/Ballots in case you misplace yours.
Since there are 4 (four) candidates running for only 3 (three) positions, the board respectfully requests that you complete the ballot portion of the proxy section in order to ensure neighborhood preferences are acknowledged.
Members are requested to complete one section of the ProxyForm.
It is necessary to include your signature and address,
otherwise the proxy will be deemed legally invalid and thus void.
Thank you for taking your time to review and complete these materials. Mostly thank you for your participation and cooperation in making Century Farms a remarkable community.
Regards,
Fran Bixler

I would make a good addition to the Century Farm Neighborhood Association board because:
I understand the long term commitment it takes to transition a subdivision into an active and sociable neighborhood. I understand the connection the board members must have within their community as well as the ability to listen to our neighborhoods requests. With the future of this community in mind, I look for resolutions to our current challenges as well as prepare our community to grow into a beautiful and desirableneighborhood.
My qualifications include:
I have served as a Century Farms board member for the last four years, primarily as Vice President. I believe that my actions have encouraged our neighbors to meet by organizingkey social events such as National Night Out/Ice Cream Social. I initiated our Century Farms newsletters, initially with my own newsletters and resources and then with a CFNA sponsored newsletter with paid advertisers. I initiated the Neighborhood Watch Program. I believe that my collaborative nature has been demonstrated and my diplomatic approaches to challenges that have arisen in the past have proven to be effective in regards to neighborly resolutions.

I find great value in making our immediatecommunity one that is safe, beautiful and enjoyable to live in. It improves the quality of life for all of us, whether as individuals we are actively involved or not.
My qualifications include:
I have a variety of committee and organization experiences similar to CFNA, but two specific business skills I think are valuable toour Neighborhood Association are pragmatic, fact-based decision making (to make things run smoothly), and diplomacy (for when things don't run smoothly due to fundamental differences of opinion).

I care strongly about the Century Farms subdivision, its health as a neighborhood and as a community. I believe in keeping members informed and in building consensus for decisions. As the CFNA Webmaster, I have participated in nearly all of the public CFNA Board meetings and taken and shared my notes on the cfna chat list in an effort to keep residents informed of the decisions that will impact them. If elected, I pledge to continue my advocacy for the CFNA members.
