Each team member that you’re in charge of has proposed a valid solution that could possibly solve the problem. However, no team member is willing to yield on their proposal and refuses to accept the others’ points of view on how to solve this problem. As the team leader that’s responsible for the success or failure of finding the best possible solution to fix this problem, what do you do to corral your team members to respect one another enough to hear the others’ points of view with an open, accepting mindset?

A Knob comes to his new sergeant (you) right after the decommissioning of the knob platoon. He explains that he lacks the skill or expertise to shine his shoes. Being an ace cadet, you know you need to correct this issue.

First week of school, a knob that has been very upbeat and on-task suddenly loses motivation. Upon seeing this change in behavior, you ask the knob what is going on.
