THE AJC ASKS, DO YOU KNOW OF A HOLIDAY HERO?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution accepting nominations for those making a difference in Atlantayear-round
ATLANTA (Nov. 24, 2009) –Beginning Thanksgiving Day, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is seeking Holiday Heroes. Holiday Heroes areindividuals who embody the holiday spirit, and whose community service has made a significant impact in Atlantayear-round. Nominations will be accepted from Nov. 26 through Dec. 2. Nominees must be at least 18 years of age. People are invited to nominate outstanding members of their community who constantly demonstrate leadership, dedication and a commitment to enhancing their communities through their service.
A panel from the newsroom will judge the nominations and winners will be profiled in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution as well as onajc.com from Dec. 20 through Dec. 31. In addition, winners will receive a complimentary night’s stay at thedowntown Ritz-Carlton Atlanta, including breakfast the next day and also receive a$50 restaurant.com gift card.
“Atlanta is filled with regular folks who have contributed in so many ways to help people this year,” said Julia Wallace, editor of the AJC and ajc.com. “Holiday Heroes allows the AJC to shine the spotlight on everyday people who do extraordinary work throughout the year to make the city a better place, in small or large ways. We hope to celebrate and honor these heroes by sharing their stories.”
Nominee Requirements:
In addition to providing contact information, those submitting will be asked to provide answers to the following questions:
- What did your Holiday Hero do to help either another person or their community?
- How has their work impacted the community?
- How did this person’s act inspire you?
