Job Title / Foreign Language Coordinator Region 1 (Bekaa and South Lebanon) based in Zahle
Purpose of job:
To support in the implementation of the FLG Programme all our programme areas, with partners, stakeholders, suppliers and wider target audiences in Lebanon and the UK to meet the British Council’s and UNHCR’s strategic objectives.
Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:
To provide administrative and technical support for the British Council and UNHCR team across all programme areas. The responsibilities can include, but are not limited to, the following:
§  Responsible for communication with identified mentors and corresponding universities involved in the project in cooridnation with FLG Coordinator.
§  Fixing mentors, trainers and coaches training schedules.
§  Liaising with UNHCR partners for venues in which to hold the FLGs
§  Monitoring mentors progress and feedback to partners/British Council
§  Filling in attendance sheets and feedback
§  Coordinating coaching visits, feedback session with coaches and mentors
§  Communicating project deliverable logistics to internal and external partners and stakeholders.
§  Attending and reporting on mentor sessions as needed and raising any issues identified
§  Performing tasks with efficiency and speed delivered on time and up to British Council standards, as well as fulfilling satisfaction of internal and external stakeholders.
§  Ensuring Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies are present in all project aspects from conceptualisation to delivery in agreement with British Council and UNHCR
§  Responsible for post training administration i.e. evaluation forms (related to reporting projects events above).
§  Finalising and delivering all arrangements within an agreed time frame.
To assume the Operational Support role on SAP. (Internal British Council)
§  Closely liaising with the British Council finance team regarding vendors and payments to ensure accurate process is taken forward.
Managing key relationships:
Stakeholders include:
§  Mentors, Universities, Trainers and Coaches
§  UNHCR education officers
§  UNHCR partners (Save the Children, IRC, TDH Italia, Caritas)
§  British Council Lebanon, MENA and UK Programmes and Projects team across all areas
§  British Council Lebanon cross-departmental teams (Marketing and Communications, Finance and Resources, Customer Service and Exams.)
§  Suppliers (hotels, taxi companies, restaurants, travel agencies, etc.)
§  MEHE (Ministry of Education and Higher Education)
Other important features or requirements of the job
Hours are variable according to events and can include evenings and occasional weekends. On certain days it may be necessary to work longer hours to cater for key deadlines.
Consultant fee is approximately $2200 per month.
Initially this will be for 7 months with a view to extending for another 6 months if project is extended.
