The Executive Board of the Teamsters Local 929 approved the establishment of the Teamsters Local 929 Scholarship Fund in order to support and encourage the children and dependents of Teamsters Local 929 work community to pursue post-secondary college and vocation school training.

Applicants for the Scholarship must be:

-The child or dependent of an active Teamsters Local 929 member who had at least 12 months of consecutive membership in good standing.

-The child or dependent of a member in good standing during the 12 months preceding the application deadline or, if retired or deceased, the member must have been in good standing for the 12 months preceding his/her retirement or death. The parent cannot be a current officer or employee of the Local Union.

-Currently in their last year of high school, and/or;

-Plan to attend or are attending an accredited college, university or vocational school.

Scholarships will be awarded on the basis or academic achievement and personal qualifications as determined by the independent Selection Committee of educators and community members. All applicants will be considered without regard to race, religion, gender, disability, or any other legally protected status.
