  • Suggestion was made to review with coordinators again.
/
  • Dave will distribute revised syllabus checklist.
  • He will post final draft on faculty webpage.

LRC Hours / Charles brought attention to the handout attached to the agenda. Please follow up with Charles if you have questions.
Late Grades /
  • Be sure to address issues with late grades.
  • When faculty are consistently late with grades, it should be appropriately noted on PPEs.
  • The responsibility should be appropriately emphasized with adjunct faculty as well.

Mid-Year Reviews / If you have faculty or staff close to a NI rating, talk with Bonnie/Sandy about the need to complete a mid-year review.
Alternative 10 month faculty assignments / *See attachment below.
Concern was expressed over:
  • Complications in administering across different divisions and programs.
  • Coverage for early registration.
  • Ability to serve on some committees (e.g., faculty council).
  • Those in the promotion cycle.
If the goal of this project is to provide more advising coverage in the summer (from faculty/academics), the suggestion was made that we might consider a summer master advisor.
It was noted that we would like a model that allows flexibility and meets the needs of the college. We will revisit.
Alternative Faculty PPE / This has been proposed to recognize the strength of individual faculty members. For example, we could have faculty who adjust their PPE percentages to teach more, advise more, and have less internal service (or any other combination). We would need to establish a minimum percentage for advising, since it is evaluated.
It was suggested we establish a table organized by the phase of a person’s career. Recommended percentages would be listed for each phase. / Special meeting for faculty assignment issues: Thursday, January 22
Summer Expectations for 12-Month Faculty / There was some discussion of expectations and activities among the various divisions with 12-month faculty. / Debbie, Pat, Trish, and Sandy will meet to continue the dialogue and report back.
Class Size/Workload /
  • We will review course caps and contact hours.
  • Once established, this will be the workload (not an interim).
  • Dave will share information at 1/10 faculty council meeting.
  • The goal is to have a product to present at our 2/13 division meetings.
  • The need to make this decision in a timely manner (by the end of February) was emphasized.
/ Dave will send handouts to share at division meetings.
Review at 1/16 division meetings.
Ongoing Items Update /
  • Dave emphasized underlined items on calendar.
  • Pat reminded folks of the schedule for AD coverage for late registration on Thursday and Friday (sent via email).
  • Ben provided folks with the updated task list for the Spring Master eMentors (Joy Famularo and Clovis Perry).
/ Dave will have Kim send program list to help with late registration.
