The registration/entry form can be found at ThorntonCreekPTA.organd must be submitted by 4PM on Friday, May 12. Due to the enormous amount of coordination that goes into scheduling rehearsals, late entries will not be permitted.
  • Students may participate in ONE act only.
  • Acts must be one minute or less.
  • No lip-synching, physical violence or inappropriate language/gestures. Parents, please be involved to ensure that this guideline is met.
  • Ideas for good acts include singing, dancing, playing a musical instrument, gymnastics, poetry recitation, physical feats (e.g., juggling, jump roping or magic tricks), skits, joke telling.
  • Music accompanying any act must be cut to one minute in length(please see application for format requirements).
  • The show is intended for the student body of Thornton Creek. Due to space limitations, only Talent Show volunteers are able to attend (see volunteer information & opportunities on entry form)
  • All information regarding the show (rehearsal days for acts, parent volunteer information etc) will be posted on ThorntonCreekPTA.org under Talent Show 2017. We will send an email letting participants know when information has been updated.

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:

  • Each participant/act will be scheduled to rehearse during one lunch period during each of the weeks of May 22thand May 29th. Due to the limited time during lunch for rehearsals, participants must be ready to perform. It is helpful if parents are involved to help kids practice outside of school so that rehearsal at school is productive.
  • Each participant/act will also participate in a final “walk through” rehearsal (without costumes) during the week of 6/5.
  • Rehearsals are held in the gym during lunch.
  • An email will be sent week of 5/15 indicating which days your child will be practicing.

.

MUSIC & PROPS:

  • If your act includes music, the 1 minute - cut versionmust be submitted by 5/12 via email to

KrystelleMakharia ~ . For group acts, only one student in the group needs to submit music for the act.

  • Music will be copied into our system and will be ready to play during rehearsals.
  • If your act includes props, they should be brought to each rehearsal. Our stage managers will collect props during the walk- through (week of 6/5) and have it ready for day of show.
  • If your act includes a musical instrument, please bring instrument (piano will be provided) and sheet music to practice. A parent volunteer will meet with students in the music room.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS:

  • Parent volunteers are needed to help make the show a success! If you are interested in volunteering, please indicate your area of intereston the volunteer section of the entry form online.
  • We understand not everyone is available during the day so there are several evening & show day opportunities to help as well!
  • Parents volunteering to help out during rehearsals will be scheduled to help twice during lunch period rehearsals (for example,Wednesday volunteers will help both May 24thand May 31th).
