Description of Course Contents

The New Ideas for the English Classroom course is designed to demonstrate a range of activities for use in the English language classroom.Teachers will take part in small group and pair work activities, open discussions, seminars, workshops in order to increase their own language level, and experience a range of modern communicative language teaching techniques. To enhance their language learning before they even arrive in the UK, all participants have access to our Excel English Online learning platform from the time they pay for their course until 3 months after they have left the school.

The course provides themed sessions to help teachers to improve their knowledge of Britain, and through interaction with colleagues and teacher trainers, give them the chance to refresh their grammar, pronunciation and current English usage. All sessions will include error correction to further aid in the enhancement of the participants’ language.

Participants are also encouraged to join school’s regular programme of cultural and social activities.

Target Groups

The course is suitable for teachers who specialize in teenage and adult students. Participants should have at least an Upper Intermediate (B2) level of English.

Aims of course

·To develop an understanding of teaching English in a European Context

·To enable teachers to brush up on their methodology and to refresh their teaching skills

· To provide them with a range of practical activities used in the modern communicative language classroom for immediate use in their own classrooms

·To give participants the opportunity to refresh and develop their own language proficiency
