Introduction[ITS2]

Teachers [ITS3]play an important role in society because they serve as great role models, they increase students’ knowledge, and they prepare students for college or careers. They [ITS4]believe in their students, challenge them, and bring out the best in them. Additionally, teachers help students to see what it means to be a respectful, productive and hardworking adult. Without question, good teachers are the key to their students’ success and help to make society better for everyone[ITS5].

Teacher [ITS6]as Role Model

Teachers are often [ITS7]around students more than their students are around their own families and sometimes act as the only positive role models in their students’ lives. Teachers [ITS8]who are effective role models have high personal values and moral standards. Whether they [ITS9]are in the classroom or their community, their values are apparent to their students. Good teachers [ITS10]realize that students will notice how they teachers treat all of their students[ITS11]--even the ones that some may consider difficult--and that they will alsonotice how teachers treat coworkers and other adults. Due to this, effective teachers see that many students will view their behavior as the standard for respect and kindness. In addition, from them, their [ITS12]students will learn strong work ethics, especially from teachers who work constantly to better themselves. The teachers who attend workshops, take classes, and even[ITS13]take time tolearn from their students help their students to see what it means to be enthusiastic about and dedicated to a profession. Teachers [ITS14]with true dedication and who demonstrate sincere [ITS15]respectultimately [ITS16]have positive impacts in their students’ lives and are the best [ITS17]role models.

Teacher [ITS18]as Educational Leader

Teachers[ITS19]help students to grow, not only academically, but also mentally and emotionally. To do this,[ITS20] effective teachers attempt to know their students, recognize who they are, what their difficulties and challenges might be, and what they can do to help them grow into competent and strong adults. Good teachers respect the diversity of their students’ cultural backgrounds. They make attempts to understand backgrounds that are different from their own, and they look for ways to help their students understand and respect others’ differences. Academically, teachers try to assess what students’ prior knowledge, so that they can teach new material that builds on that prior knowledge and challenges and interests students. Effective teachers work to improve the intellectual development of their students. They teach their students in ways that helps them to be better learners, readers, and critical thinkers regardless of where they choose to go in life.

Teacher as Preparer

Teachers help prepare students for whatever they intend to do once they graduate, whether it is going to college or pursuing a career. In order to help students be prepared for the real world, effective teachers believe that all students can learn. By believing in their students, teachers consequently help their students to believe in themselves. In order to find the path best suited for their students, good teachers give their students a variety of challenging assignments that challenge them and expand their world. They always set high expectations on their students’ assignments so that they will gain confidence in their abilities and be able to handle any difficult situations that they may face after graduation. Effective teachers assess their students’ learning in ways that improve their thinking skills. They understand that the ability to think critically will be necessary for students to be successful and aim to create activities and assessments that promote this. In essence, effective teachers teach students well enough so that they can make good choices and pursue whatever dreams and ambitions they may have.

Conclusion[ITS21]

Good, effective, and dedicated teachers work especially hard to do their jobs well. They must be role models who teach their students respect by example; they must get to know who their students are and create engaging lessons that enlighten and challenge; and they must prepare students to make wise choices about their futures. Combined, these tasks seem monumental. However, teachers who see these roles as missions, or even callings, will tackle every challenge in order to help the students they teach[ITS22][ITS23].
