Note to the Student: This checksheet describes the curricular requirements for the teacher licensing program in Business Education and can be used only with post bachelor and Master of Education Degree in Education and Human Resource Studies candidates. All curricular requirements on this checksheet, along with other programmatic requirements, must be met in order to receive the institutional recommendation for the teaching endorsement.

To be considered for admission to the licensure program in Business and/or Marketing Education, applicants must possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration that is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

Please note that the Business Education content area requires a CTE credential. This means that in addition to the 41 credits required for the master’s plus teaching license, these individuals must also complete EDCT 431 and/or 441, and provide proof of 1200 hours of paid occupational experience related to the CTE area they are preparing to teach.

Important Coursework Requirements:

1)  Students must be admitted to the Teacher Licensure Program in the School of Teacher Education and Principal Preparation.

2)  Because the coursework content and field experiences build upon previous courses, the phases cannot be taken concurrently or out of sequence.

3)  Grades in ALL education courses and teaching content courses must be C or above. CSU Graduate School requires a cumulative 3.0 GPA.

4)  Students cannot advance to the next phase of the program with incomplete grades (with the exception of EDRM 602) or grades of C- or below in professional education courses.
