Dear Parents,

Attached you will find a practice word list for spelling tests. I will pick 10 of these words each Friday for a spelling test. I will begin spelling tests on Friday, January 27th. You will need to practice with your child, but the students do not need to memorize the words. They should be able to hear the sounds, and write them, left to right. During the tests, I say the word slowly and quickly. I say the 3 sounds individually and then say the word. I do this multiple times for each word to give each child many opportunities to hear the sounds and the word.

We will use this set of words for a few weeks. When we are ready to move on to a new set of words, I will send home a new list.

Please do not lose this list of words.

Good Luck and let me know if you have any questions!
