Anticipatory Set: Hook/Prior Knowledge/Focus / *The teacher will begin to introduce him/herself.
Lesson Components / *The teacher will have each student introduce themselves and say one interesting things about themselves.
*The teacher will then move on to the classroom expectations(rules) and discipline. The teacher will explain what is expected of them on a daily basis with also creating an anchor chart with the students.
*The teacher will review and model how students will enter the classroom and go over hallway procedures. (Teacher modeling)
*The teacher will go over the seating arrangements.
*The teacher will talk about first day jitters. (Read story if available/If not the teacher will have students come up with synonyms for the word and write them on the board.)
The students will then be directed to draw what jitters looks like to them and explain how they feel in writing a paragraph.
This will serve as an informal writing observation.

Lesson Components / *The teacher will go over the routine for completing bell work. Have all the students practice coming in and sitting in their seat completing a warm up week 1 from the daily language warmup book. Start on Monday and work with week 1 until the end of next week.
*The teacher will go over routines of how to turn in work. (Model and practice)

*Have the students write the answers the guiding questions/question stems as a summative reflection/assessment. Once students have all completed their summaries. Go over with the class to make sure the students are learning what is expected.
