Job Purpose
  • To deliver an effective marketing and events function for Culture Perth and Kinross which supports current and develops new audiences increasing footfall and income into services.
  • To support the development of individualgiving, corporate patronage and donor engagement.

Main Accountabilities

•You will be expected to work independently as well as across different teams in order to contribute to and deliver the priorities of Culture Perth and Kinross - using your knowledge, skills, talent and potential to the best of your ability.

•You will focus at all times on delivering excellent customer service and ensuring value for money while being professional, courteous and demonstrating the behaviours and attributes expected of all Culture Perth and Kinross employees.

•You will be expected to work across departments effectively, working with individuals, partners and where appropriate volunteers.

•To identify and implement learning and development needs for both yourself and your team, including volunteers, if appropriate.

•You will be expected to comply with corporate standards, and use corporate systems, processes and procedures – and undertake any necessary training as directed.

In addition, your duties will include:

Marketing and Communications

  • Contribute to and deliver a Marketing and Events Strategy for the service and ensure an events plan is in place for key exhibitions and activity within the public programme.
  • Identify key target audience markets and opportunities and develop plans and initiatives to capture these.
  • Manage and further develop the CPK brand ensuring that it becomes well known and understood within the region and across Scotland.
  • Participate in relevant local and national networks and initiatives which promote CPK brand and activity.
  • Delivery of proactive and responsive marketing activity as guided by the Marketing and Events Strategy.
  • Manage and develop content for varied marketing channels including, but not limited to, website, e-bulletins, press releases, internal newsletters, the What’s On brochure, promotional leaflets and any direct mail.
  • Work with Design and Publicity Officer/external specialists as required to manage innovative content for the delivery of creative, successful and cost effective marketing and press campaigns for the organisation.
  • Manage website and CMS at a high level.
  • Manage the commissioning process for external marketing and communications support as required and any relevant agency relationship at a day to day basis.
  • Maintain databases of key contacts, customers and stakeholders for the purposes of marketing and communications as appropriate.

Events

•Support the Events Officer in the development and delivery of tailored events and activities which increase footfall and audience engagement across all venues.

•Ensure Events are planned, managed and delivered within agreed budgets and timescales.

•Support and direct the wider staff team across the organisation in the development and delivery of events to ensure consistency, quality and effective delivery.

Fundraising

  • Support the development of online giving and ecommerce activity within the service.
  • Manage supporter and corporate giving schemes for the organisation.
  • Support and where appropriate deliver a range of supporter benefits associated with individual and corporate giving.
  • Support delivery of high profile fundraising events.
  • Ensure that staff receive appropriate training to support promotional and fundraising activities.

General

  • Contribute to Team Meetings, Improvement Planning Processes and internal development activities as required.
  • Be responsible for ensuring personal health and safety by following safe systems of work, and by meeting the requirements of the health and safety policy.

  • Read and respond to corporate communications and information which is disseminated.

The post holder may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description for the post. The particular duties and responsibilities attached to posts may vary from time to time depending on the requirement of the Service without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibilities entailed.

The post holder may be required to work occasional evening and weekends to meet the delivery needs of the service.

Job Specific Requirements

Knowledge & Experience
Essential
Qualification in Marketing, Communications or a related field
Experience of delivering varied marketing activity across a variety of channels and audiences
Experience of delivering marketing activity but also contributing to the development of strategy and policy where appropriate
Experience of managing suppliers and stakeholders
Experience in developing and delivering electronic information – for example, social media, blogs, websites and using reporting tools such as Google Analytics
Experience of managing and developing a staff team
Desirable
Experience of working with the Cultural, Tourism or Public sector
