Mercer University Presidential Scholarships - Jesse Mercer, Josiah Penfield, and Adiel Sherwood Scholarships Discipline: General Award: Varies from $10,500 to full tuition Requirements: Merit-based scholarships are awarded to full-timeentering students by the Office of University Admissions. Mercer University funds are awarded for a total of 8 semesters and are not available for summer semester. Applicants must qualify for a Mercer University Presidential Scholarship in order to apply for individual scholarships listed above.

University of Georgia Foundation Fellowship Discipline: General Award: Varies) Requirements: Applicants must be current high school seniors with an unweighted high school GPA of at least 3.75 and a minimum combined SAT score of 1400 (Critical Reading and Math only) or ACT score of 31. In addition to outstanding academic achievement, successful applicants demonstrate a high degree of intellectual drive and curiosity and possess superior records of leadership and service. Finally, Foundation Fellows and Ramsey Scholars should demonstrate the ability to benefit from and contribute to an intellectually and culturally diverse community of scholar-citizens. *Voice of Democracy National Audio Essay (VFW) Discipline: General Award: The first-place winner, who competes with all the first-place VFW Department winners, receives a $30,000 scholarship that is paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school and an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, DC. Also, national scholarships ranging from $1,000-$16,000. Requirements: Must write and record an essay of between 3-5 minutes. Essay themes are listed on the web site. Open to all students in grades 9-12. Deadline: The deadline for submissions for the 2015-2016 program is November 1, 2015.

Appalachian State University Plemmons Fellows Program Discipline: Leadership Award: $1,500 per year for four years. Clemson National Scholars Discipline: General Merit-based Award: Approximately 10 students will be awarded scholarships covering the entire cost for attendance at Clemson Requirements: High academic achievement. Both undergraduate application and Calhoun Honors College application must be submitted by December 1. The preferred Deadline is November 15th and final deadline is December 1. Duke University & University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) - Robertson Scholars Discipline: General Award: Duke - full tuition, summer support, research and travel stipend, laptop. UNC-CH - full tuition and living expenses stipend Requirements: Demonstrated academic excellence, leadership roles in community service, interest in and commitment to diversity. UNC-Asheville Pisgah and other Scholarships Discipline: General Award: UNC Asheville offers a variety of scholarships, ranging from approximately $1,000 per year to full tuition and fees, to entering freshman who demonstrate high academic achievements. Requirements: Though some scholarships carry donor-specific restrictions, many of these scholarships are unrestricted and are available to students who meet the academic or academic/need criteria. Most scholarships are renewable as long as the recipient maintains the specified minimum grade-point average (GPA) and satisfactory academic progress towards his/her degree.
