PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY

TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills

Nationally, there has been growing awareness that people need to develop their language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills not only at school but across the whole of their life. To make sure that learners’ LLN skills are addressed in their VET experience, changes are being made to the TAE10 Training and Education Training Package.

From July 2014 the elective unit TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills will become a core unit in the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and trainers who currently hold the TAE40110 will have until

June 2015 to update their qualification with this competency.

To assist ACT VET teachers and trainers inupdating qualifications, the ACT Training and Education Directorate is offering freetraining in this unit of competency to VET teachers/trainers who already hold the TAE40110. The expectation is that by building the RTO workforce capability to address LLN needs, RTOs will be better able to assist learners to complete vocational training and improve LLN skills.

The Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) has been contracted to deliver this training and there are places available in the July and October training groups. Providers can nominate up to 2teachers / trainers for this training. If the RTO has more than teachers/trainers requiring training, please nominate in the reserve section in case additional places become available.

To nominate for the training, please complete the form below and return
