Meeting Agenda:

  1. Call to order - meeting was called to order at 8:12pm by President, George Cordoza
  2. Roll call was conducted by Hope Chapman
  3. Motion granted to accept minutes from last meeting
  4. Dave Timms
  5. First week concerns from officials
  6. Some incidents this weekend where coaches on the field were questioning calls. Dave came to remind those at the meeting that questioning could be perceived unfavorably by the officals per the rulebook SVMFL is governed by.
  7. In the future, when a coach has question with ref, must request a time out.
  8. TreasurerReport – Scott Kieras
  9. League balance is $73,530.17. Bill from Officials not included – last year was 15K. All equipment and insurance paid.
  10. Cheer Director – No report
  11. Flag/Powderpuff – No report
  12. Question on goal post
  13. We have pipes for temporary goal posts – need volunteers to pull out the parts and install.
  14. Tackle Commissioner’s Report –Tom Porter
  15. Go to Tom Porter with any tackle issue. If Tom can’t resolve, he will bring to the board in order to streamline chain of command.
  16. Police your areas for garbage before you leave. Tom is going to assign each team to come down on a Sunday to come and clean up the park.
  17. Announcer’s booth – mixer overheated and shut down. In order to prevent in the future, must be turned off. We need to keep only 3 people upstairs at a time. IF there is no one who signs up (Posted on door) it is the home team’s responsibility.
  18. Field needs to be set up in the morning by opening game home team
  19. Field needs to be closed up by last team.
  20. If no one is hear, contact Tom Porter.
  21. If you break down field or use CART, please plug it in to charge it.
  22. Equipment Manager Report –Tim O’Shea
  23. Tim to take final count for remaining helmets needed.
  24. Looking for volunteers for equipment manager/volunteers for next year.
  25. League Auxilary Report – Terri O’Shea
  26. Fundraising helmet stickers coming in by early next week the latest
  27. Kim is organizing the Boo Bash, and fundraiser to purchase costumes through our league. More to come
  28. Punt Pass Kick – will be promoted this week. Looking for volunteers. Fred Parke will assist.
  29. Photo day is Saturday 9/14 and Saturday 9/21. Three teams are affected and need to schedule
  30. Team Mom’s – please email name to Terri.
  31. Shari Kohl coordinated food drive. Collected 313.5 lbs. of food so far from league. Stop and shop over the weekend collected $840.00
  32. Wristbands for cancer awareness will be ordered – wristbands and bracelets. All proceeds to go to Susan Komen foundation
  33. Mom’s powderpuff game. If we don’t play against Memorial, we will consider doing amongst SVMFL mom’s.
  34. Old Business
  35. Fred Parke – Safety Coordinator – CPR/First Aid course will be next week (Either Wed or Thurs) $40 Cash only ($200 course) 7:30-10:30pm. All materials included. Every team has to have a CPR certified coach on staff.
  36. New Business
  37. Rental lights will cost us $4400 for 4 units for two months ($550 per unit per month).
  38. Temporary Deisel lights
  39. Motion approved to move forward by general membership unanimously.
  40. Looking to see what insurance will be on this.
