Job Title:Policy Officer

Department:Support Services

Location:Support Services

Responsible to:Director of Housing & Care

Job Purpose:

To work collaboratively with managers to review the organisation’s policies in accordance with the annual work plan taking account of changes in regulation, legislation, best practice and new thinking that may impact on the work of the Association.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain a robust framework for policy review.
  • Review and develop policies due for review/creation in 2017.
  • Ensure succinct procedures are developed that support the policies
  • To consult stakeholders, including staff and residents (where required) in the development of the organisation’s policies
  • To effectively communicate our policies and procedures to staff including maintaining clear and up to date information on the Group's intranet site
  • Develop and maintain the intranet and website pages and content for policy, guidance and sharing of policy updates. Provide advice and guidance to internal customers.

Essential / Desirable
Qualifications
6 x GCSE including English and Mathematics
A Levels

Experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a policy development role
  • Project Management experience from concept to sign off
  • Experience of process mapping
  • Report writing
  • Interpreting policy and translating it into challenging performance targets
  • Involving stakeholders in the review of policies

  • Experience of producing housing or Care Policies
