Submission of Supplementary Materials for Alcohol Research Center (P30, P50, P60) Grant Applications

List of Acceptable Materials Before the Review

  • One-page supplemental information per support core, i.e., Administrative Core, Technical Core, Clinical Core, Animal Core, Statistical Core and Pilot Projects component. This may include information on recent updates on personnel, Advisory Board Committee membershipand other pertinent information related to these sections.“NIH requires the use of one of four approved fonts and a font size of 11 points or larger. The approved font options include two serif fonts (Palatino and Georgia) and two sans serif fonts (Arial and Helvetica). A symbol font may be used to insert Greek letters or special characters; the font size requirement still applies”.
  • One-page supplemental information per Research Project or Education/Outreach Component. This may contain new preliminary data and other pertinent information related to the research or outreach component. “NIH requires the use of one of four approved fonts and a font size of 11 points or larger. The approved font options include two serif fonts (Palatino and Georgia) and two sans serif fonts (Arial and Helvetica). A symbol font may be used to insert Greek letters or special characters; the font size requirement still applies”.
  • Publications:A list of recent publications and are available free online may be listed in the supplemental materials (see above) for the appropriate support core and research components. E-mail from the editor indicating full acceptance of a recently submitted manuscript may be accepted. Editorial decision that states acceptance pending revisions is not acceptable.
  • Biosketches for new personnel only.
  • Additional materials to supplement the appendices will not be accepted.
  • Do not send pre-publication drafts (galley proofs) unless requested by the SRO. In general, follow NIH guidance on publications contained in appendix material policy, see the date of the review meeting has been confirmed, the SRO assigned to the application(s) will contact the PI and will convey the date of the review.
  • Hard copies are not acceptable. Electronic files must be sent via email.
  • Supplementary material will not be accepted if it is submitted less than 30 calendar days prior to the review meeting.
  • The additional materials must be submitted to the NIH SRO with the written consent of the applicant organization’s designated AOR/SO.
