  • Be able to identify if a substance is an atom, molecule or compound. You will be given molecular formulas and/or model drawings and will have to correctly identify them
  • You will need identify what some of the physical properties of matter are. Review your notes!
  • Know that weight, shape and size should NOT be used to describe matter as they can change.
  • Be able to identify if a change to a substance is a physical change or a chemical change
  • Be able to identify chemical properties of matter. Know that chemical properties cannot be observed with altering the substance.
  • Know the definition of a physical change and be able to identify them
  • Understand that Chemical Changes are really Chemical reactions. Know what is happening with the molecules during a chemical reaction and that new substances form at the end of the reaction.
  • Know that the physical and chemical properties of the products of a chemical reaction are different than the properties of the reactants
  • Be able to list the 4 main indicators of a chemical reaction
