Absent:
Students who are absent are responsible for asking about any work missed while they were gone. If students know they will be absent ahead of time they are also responsible for obtaining what they will be missing while they are gone.
Late work:
Any work turned in after the due date, without an excused reason, will lose 10% for every day that it is late- up to 50%. After 5 days, the highest grade the work will earn is a 50%.
Cell phone and headphones:
Cell phones will be allowed unless they become a distraction to students. Headphones may be used while students are working or reading independently, also, unless they become a distraction. This will be left to my discretion.
Tardies:
Students are given a hall passes at the beginning of the semester. They may use this paper to erase any tardies they have to my class. Any passes left at the end of the quarter can be used as extra credit.
My hopes are that my classroom will be a safe and creative learning environment for all students to come to learn and grow in their reading and writing. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
