Student Volunteer Nomination Form

The EBLIP8 will be held at the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane July 6-8 2015. As a student volunteer you will be required to assist with the running of the conference. This may include working on the registration desk, aiding speakers and session chairs, directing and helping delegates, documenting the event using multimedia; photographing, recording short interviews, uploading content to interactive boards, liaising with venue staff, assisting with library tours and other activities as required. As a student volunteer you will be provided with the opportunity to attend some seminar sessions.

Applicant Eligibility:

Applicants for EBLIP8 conference Student Volunteer positions must be current library and information science students. Applicants need to submit three documents:

§  This nomination form

§  One page resume (A4)

§  Your personal statement addressing the selection criteria below.

Selection Criteria:

The successful applicants will be chosen based on how well their personal statement addresses the following selection criteria (maximum 4 A4 pages double line spacing):

§  Describe how your participation at the EBLIP8 conference will contribute to your future career as an information professional and to your personal development plan

§  Demonstrate how participation at the EBLIP8 conference can be applied to your current employment or future employment prospects

§  Illustrate professional presentation in your personal statement, i.e. correct spelling and grammar, etc.

§  Experience in event management is desirable (for example, have you organised or helped organised a wedding, school fete, scout camp, etc.?)

Completed submissions must be received by the 8th of May, 2015. Late entries will not be accepted. Please submit the completed nomination form and supporting documents in electronic form to .
