Agenda Item / Discussion/Decision / Action1. Registration & Council Dates / - Registration procedure completed.
- Stuart Forrester (SF) offered apologies from Miss Carrey; due to absence the issues raised at the last Council Meeting have not been discussed by the SLT. They will be carried forward along with issues raised today.
- Council minutes from the 13.09.16 and 10.10.16 will be available on the notice board by the end of this week. / None required.
Miss Carrey to carry forward issues from previous meeting.
2. Council Charter Sub-Committee / - SF outlined progress from last meeting. However, concerns were raised regarding the poor attendance of the meeting. The next meeting is Wednesday 12/10/16 during lunchtime at 1pm in the C-Wing. / Sub-committee members to attend meeting on 12/10/16.
3. Fund Raising Committee / - SF outlined that progress was hindered due to staff absence however some ideas had been collated and would be discussed further at the next meeting – Tuesday 11/10/16 during lunchtime at 1pm in the C-Wing.
- SF introduced Heather Gildie who presented a letter to the Council; she is seeking support for raising funds for Medicinema – a charity her brother recently benefitted from. This will be discussed further in the Sub-Committee but representatives were asked to generate fund-raising ideas and pass these to sub-committee members. / Sub-committee members to attend meeting on 11/10/16.
4. Issues / - Concerns were raised that the lunch queues were still separated into card payment and cash payment queues following SLT’s agreement to have these merged.
- A suggestion was also raised to introduce house coloured ties. Miss Carrey agreed to present the idea to SLT but raised concerns over creating division amongst students. / Miss Carrey to discuss these issues with the SLT and feedback to the Student Council at the next meeting.
5. AOCB / - SF outlined issued raised by Margaret the Janitor – after the Council appealing for liquid soap and improved conditions in the toilets; the boys have been kicking the soap bars across the floors meaning the staff on duty have extra work to do to keep the toilets safe to use as well as numerous bars of soap being wasted. SF asked Council members to remind registration classes to treat the facilities with respect.
- SF Also reminded the Council members that there is no non-uniform day this week; that it has been moved to February following a Council vote. / All Council members to feedback to register classes.
