Camp Descriptions:

Farm Camp:This week is specifically designed for the mini equine enthusiast (ages 4-10) with limited riding experience! Campers brush, feed, ride, care for the horses and engage in various farming activities. They also hike, swim, make crafts and hear from guest speakers such as the vet and farrier. This is an ideal week to see what “farm life” is truly like in a creative and nurturing environment!

Hunter/Jumper Beginner & Intermediate:This week is tailored to those with limited or basic riding experience who want to enhance their equestrian skills! Riders will care for their own horse, receive individual instruction in the ring, clean stalls and learn hunter/jumper style riding. Campers also swim, hike, trail ride, bathe the horses, partake in team-building activities and more. This week highly emphasizes the importance of horse care, horsemanship and creating a lasting bond between horse and rider.

Ellis Young Riders:The Ellis Young Riders camp is a unique partnership between Stride Away and The Ellis School that is designed for the horse enthusiast and scholar. This is a week full of equine enrichment, riding and personal growth. Activities include individualized lessons daily, grooming, feeding and caring for the horses. Pony Passion:Get ready for our fourth summer offering Pony Passion! Rider will overcome obstacles and grow as an equestrian during this time. Riders “co-own” a horse for the week. They are responsible to feed, groom, ride and care for their horse. Riders receive extensive instruction up to 2 times daily and are challenged with new obstacles. They also learn veterinary care, farrier skills, how to load a horse in a trailer and more. This camp is limited to 8riders. Riders need to be proficient at the posting trot to attend. Get ready to grow as an equestrian and have fun!

Training Camp: Training camp is designed for individuals who want a physical and mental challenge with a rewarding experience this summer. This is an intensive camp that includes fitness, dressage, show jumping and cross-country (3-day eventing) in an altruistic atmosphere. Riders must be proficient at the canter to attend and the camp is limited to 8 riders. Begin the day with a run or hike in the woods, care for the horses and ride 1-2 times daily. Riderspartake in teambuilding activities, learn about equine nutrition, professions, critical care tactics and more. We are excited to see our riders grow during this week!

*Please note: We are giving the horses a break in between camp weeks on Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Please feel free to inquire about lessons on Tuesday or Thursday during the weeks we don’t offer camp! Thank you!
