STREETSCAPE PHASE II
Thursday, September 29, 2005
Community Room–8:00 a.m.
Those present for the meeting were: Don Luensmann, Deb Lindgren, Brent Wiethorn, Jim Barnes, Doug Nass, Pat Stoll, Brent Harm, Jodie Hast, Al Roder, Ken Livingston, and Terry Crawford.
· Terry gave the update because Mark was at a bid letting this morning. He said that the stripers are here and hoping to finish today. The city has the parking stalls blocked off but Terry is going to talk to them after the meeting and see if they need the streets closed. The streets should be ready for the parade tomorrow. Terry talked to Doug Wiebers just after the meeting and he has coordinated the blocking off of the parking only for the striping operation. Also, Doug had the sweeper come up and clean South Main and Center streets for them prior to striping.
· Terry said that the asphalt ran under quantity, but that Barkley did a nice job.
· Landscapers are still working on planters and nodes. South Main is completed except for the nodes on the south side of the block. The landscaper is trying to get Broadway done first for Customer Appreciation Days. Don Sewalson is supposed to get an estimate on how much water is being used by the irrigation system for DMU.
· Harris Construction is staying on top of landscaping, interpretive signs, and stops signs. These are the areas that will now need to be completed prior to acceptance of both phases of the work. Al said the City would like to close out both phases of the work before the end of the year.
· On the east side of Broadway the poles are set. DMU is unable to set the stop lights at the intersection of 15th and Broadway; they are waiting on the traffic control cable. Terry will check and see when General Traffic Controls will deliver the street lights and controller cabinets. The electrical subcontractor is responsible for the traffic signal cable and conduit. Pat Stoll said that there needs to be footings poured on the east side of the intersection yet. Pat said that all poles on Broadway will be up and operating by Customer Appreciation Days except the 15th and Broadway intersection. Later Terry learned that GTC is shipping the signal heads and controller cabinets today.
· Terry said everything should be done; weather permitting, by the completion date of October 28, 2005. Streetscape should be wrapped up and special assessments should be in final form before the end of the year.
· Terry will ask Mark with Harris Construction about the as-built drawings. Ken said that Mark is obligated to provide the electrical “as – builts” to the City.
· There will be streetscape meetings until further notice.
